Molly's first day of school wasn't quite what you would expect! She didn't go! Monday night we were on our way home when she threw up all over the car. The poor kid was sick! Honestly I don't really know if she was sick or if it was just the nasty rotten milk I gave her on Sunday night... I didn't really look at the expiration date... uuuuu the 28th. No one else had even gotten an upset stomach, but poor Molly was shaking, barfing and the poor thing felt horrible. She was in the bathroom after she had thrown up and I was brushing her teeth when she said to me with the saddest face ever "I don't think I should go to school tomorrow." She started to cry. Oh I felt so bad. I just hugged her and I wanted to cry. She has been looking forward to this since the last day of school last year. She has been begging me to go back. In fact I had to make a count down calender for her so that she would know how many days left she had until school started.
So she got up and she seemed fine! I didn't send her... Just in case. She seemed fine all day long. So I took her when I knew that her class would be getting out and we went to meet her teachers and give them their little back to school gifts. I wanted Molly to get to meet her teachers and felt like she knew where she was going, being as everyone had a day up on her! Her teachers could not have been cuter! They took Molly by the hand and showed her the room, walking her all around and telling her what to do when she comes back tomorrow, really they are darling!
Molly gave them their little teacher gift. I tried to do something different this year. Molly's class didn't have a meet your teacher day so she was going in cold turkey. I though that It would be fun to do a little something that showed a little bit about who Molly is and what she likes and a little of her personality! So I came up with this...
I came up with new words to to the tune of "My Favorite Things" song form "The Sound Of Music" Then I printed them off with this picture and put it on a cute lunch box look a like and put in some crayons that we had melted down into letterers, some chap stick for make up and some chocolate covered in glob like wrappers for treats. Molly wrote a cute little note and I think her teachers really like it! The song went like this...
Bright golden arches, warm fries and cold sprite
Lake Powell in summer, with water just right
Dresses, and bowas, high hills, big fake rings
These are a few of my favorite things
Choirs:
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad
Soft fleece green blankie, right thumb in my mouth
Movies and treats for those long trips down south
Helping sweet Stella with hair-stylings
These are a few of my favorite things
Choirs
Playing with dollies and putting on make up
Having tea parties with milk in my cup
Crayons and markers to add to drawings
These are a few of my favorite things
Choirs
After we went to visit her teachers we came home had some lunch and then put the kids down for a nap, Molly needed it after a sleepless night. Then when Kris got home we all went over and took some picture of Molly at her school on her first day! She was so cute! Love this girl! I can't believe that she has grown up so fast! Really where has the time gone. I dropped her off and really was so sad. I got in the car and Stella just looked at me and started to cry... "Where's Molly? Where's Molly? I want daddy!" I wanted to cry as well. Not only has my baby gone to school my other baby is freaked out she has to be all alone with me! But we made it, and Molly loved it! Stella realized it wasn't so bad. We had a fun day. We went to the park, daddy's office and the fabric store. All in all it's been a good week minus the few little hick ups here and there. We didn't get to have our Back to school FHE dinner due to sick kids... but it will be coming! Here are some back to school photos of My (not baby, boo!) big girl!
