Happy Thanksgiving!

Molly and Stella LOVE to color. I have a huge jar of crayons on my table and they have spent many hours sitting there coloring. Molly has really become a great little reader and as a by product she has started writing notes all by herself. She recently brought me this one and was so proud of it! She did it all by herself (although some of you might think I may have helped her with the spelling, Ha ha ha!)

A Turkey is
A Turkey is a funny bird
It's head goes wobble wobble
and all it knows is just one word
gobble gobble gobble

Happy Thanksgiving!

Funny Sayings.

Molly: Hi Wie Wie! What are you doing?
Whitney: I'm at the store with Grandma. What are you doing?
Molly: I'm just at my mom home, because my castle isn't quite done yet.

I put on some music while we were making cupcakes and the Beatles Love song was playing.
Molly: Mom, this song is about loving the Lord!
Me: laughing, "Well, not really."
Molly: What is it about then?
Me: Still laughing
Molly: Is it about all you need is love?
Me: Still laughing, "Ya."

Funny Molly Phrases!

While Kris was gone to spring training I had gotten a new movie for the girls as a bribe and distraction. Elloise at Spring time. I LOVE Elloise book and movies all alike. Molly takes after her mother because she LOVES it and could watch it over and over again if I would let her. On one occasion last week while she was watching it she said to me....

"I want a Weenie!"

Let me explain a little more... Elloise has a little dog named Weenie. Anyway I couldn't help but just laugh! Oh kids are so funny!

Then this morning Molly was spinning in circles over and over until she fell on the kitchen floor and she said to me...

"Mom, Stop the house!"

Apparently she had been spinning a little to much!

Salon Molly!

It's now been exactly 2 weeks and I think I have calmed down enough to actually blog about this and kind of have a sense of humor.... f.y.i. maybe don't push it though I'm still very sensitive about it. Two weeks ago today I was hard at work trying to make a great St. Patricks day dinner. Kris was running on the tread mill and we had taken the girls down and gated them into their playroom.

When Kris was done with his run he came up with the girls and I still had some work to do on dinner. When I looked at Stella her hair looked funny, but I chalked it up to her laying on her hair and I don't know totally oblivious mom! When she waked by me the first time I saw hair on her shoulder thinking that it was just hair from Molly's hair cut earlier that day! (Again oblivious mom) so she walked by me again and I saw more hair on her shoulder... when I started to pull it off her shoulder and thinking "Where is the hair coming from." that's when it hit me! I spun her around and this is what I found!

I honestly don't know how Molly got the scissors but she did and must have had them stashed in her playroom because there was no way that she could have gotten out of her playroom! Oh I wish I could tell you that I was just laughing about it and gently corrected Molly and had the kids will be kids this was bound to happen attitude... But that was NOT the case at all. There was a lot of yelling and some tears, a "Kris you really need to take the girls outside, just take them out now." It ultimately ended with a really quiet mom during dinner and a text to a friend that cuts hair! Thank you Sara!
Molly had taken several chunks form the back right to the head! When I went to Sara's house the next day to have her see what she could do to make it better I asked her if it was as bad as I thought it was. Kris kept telling me it wasn't as bad as I though It was. So when I asked Sara she confirmed to me what I had been thinking... It was pretty bad. She did tell me a story of a friend who also cuts hair and her daughter got the clippers and took a huge strip of hair starting in the front and back her head. Oh boy! Really! It's not that bad! Luckily the front looks fine (good thing because we have family pictures coming up soon)
So here is our first hair disaster and we have survived. I have calmed down quite a bit and don't want to cry every time I do Stella's hair. I also was reminded of the quite by my sister Kat from Sister Hinckley the one that said "I have to either cry or laugh, I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache. If this is the worst of the worst than I will take this for sure!

All In A Days Work!

Trying to prepare for the New Beginning talk this is what was going on... in addition to Stella in the drawer.

The girls emptied my snack bags in Molly's room... SWEET!

Dishes... Never ends. I remeber my sister in law (who has two kids about my kids age) telling me they only ran the dishwasher every other or every 3 days because they don't have that many dishes to do..... Are You Kidding me? We run it atleast once a day, if not more, I'm totally not kidding or exagerating ether!

Studying, so this isn't the most typical I'm usually preventing kids in drawers or emptying my kitchen drawers and the spoons in the toilet or snack bags emptied and dishes and cleaning and all that!

Fighting... Never fail sisterly love!

Running.... They are here and then they are gone

Dress up. Molly loves to dress up, but not as much with clothing (other than the stuff in Stella's closet that is the 3-6 month clothing, a whole other post) Yet she changes her clothing at least 4 times a day . Stella, she loves shoes! She was so funny. She put my boots on and was walking around the house but they are so big on her that she kept falling over and would get so mad. So then she does this downward dog yoga pose and tries to kick them off the whole time she just screams!

Dinner... 4:50 dad will be home in about 10 min, What's for dinner? Dinner, What's that?
All in a days work!

That night Kris and I were off to the temple for ward temple night and with out a babysitter I wasn't planning on going, but then I got a call from my sister who offered to watch the kids, until I got a phone call from my sister that was so kind to come with her husband and watch the kids so that I could go to the temple... It's been a long time since I was able to go with my husband to ward temple night for lack of a sitter. What a relief and what a nice end to a routine and exhausting day!

Captain Underpants!

Molly's nick name is "Captain Underpants"! This child is classic! The first thing she dose when she walks in the door is strips her cloths off and runs around in her underwear all day! You can bribe, threaten, or coax her, but to no avail! She loves the freedom and even at preschool she will fully take off her pants to put her snow pants on to go outside. The other day I went to pick her up and she was changing out of her snow pants back to her jeans and she had to get her pants out of her bag in the hall so here is my sweet little "Captain Underpants" walking down the hall in her underwear. Oh boy! So the other day Kris was outside washing the car and it was like 23 degrees out there. Stella had just gotten up from her nap and I went in to change her diaper and get her up and going again. I opened the shutters so that she could see and wave to daddy when I realized he wasn't the only one out there. There was Molly in her underwear and rain boots, that's all! REaLLy! So here is a snapshot of her headed back into the house!

Some Funny Molly Conversations!

*Sunday Feb 14 in the afternoon. She was excited about the tea party and kept asking about it but playing pretend with Stella earlier that day...

Molly to Stella: Come on Stell we need to go to our tea party (trying to pull her into her bedroom) Joseph Smith will be there, lets go!

HUMMMM.... wonder what she learned about earlier that day in primary.

*Molly and Mommy: I was trying to explain something that didn't happen the way it was supposed to and this was the following conversation....

Mommy: I'm the bad guy Again!
Molly: (laughing and thinking that sounded funny) Oh mommy, Your not the bad guy!
Mommy: Feeling like my child would love me despite the bad news I was giving her.
Molly: (Not laughing anymore) You're just the Mean Mommy!
Mommy: All feelings of her thinking she would love me anyway GONE!

*Yesterday we had gone to Discovery with some friends and any way long story short I have to go back down on Mon and was thinking it would be fun for my sisters to take the girls...
Mommy: Did you have fun today at Discovery?
Molly: Nodding her head yes!
Mommy: Do you want to go back on Mon with Kat and Whit?
Molly: They will LOVE it! (with a huge smile!)

Valentines for School!

I still can't believe she is big enough to take valentines to class. Molly was so excited about this day. We have been talking about Valentine day for a long time. We have been reading some fun books about Valentines day so she gets it! She picked out Valentines for her class and friends and she picked the playing cards. She so proudly wrote her own name on each card. I think she was enthralled with the Tinkerbell and Princess cards. They had made Valentine boxes earlier that week and so they each got to put their Valentines in everyone's box. Molly was really concerned that Ryan wasn't there, but "we put Valentines in his box, I don't think he will want them if he is sick." I love that she is so worried about others around her. They make heart shaped cakes and got to decorate them. I'm so glad that she like it and had a fun Valentines day party with her class.

Sleeping! REALLY!

(If I would have waited a few minutes you could have gotten the head up and mouth open)

So here is my little sleeping beauty... The funny thing is that she has not been sleeping much at all, hence the reason for falling asleep on the couch in the middle of the day. Molly kept both Kris and I up ALL night last night, really not kidding! She would come into our room every 20 mins crying about something else, "there's a spider in my room!", "I want a drink!", "I don't want to go to sleep!", "I want to watch tv!" "I need to go potty!" It was really old by 1am but by 5am Kris and I had had it! This is getting really old. Stella will have a horrible night and then sleep all night and Molly will have a horrible night. I just really am ready to go crazy! When they are awake they just cry, no matter what I do, where they are, or what I try, they just scream. My ears are ringing and my head is pounding... Oh Boy! Well Stella is screaming and pulling my jacket because she wants to be on the chair playing on the computer.

LONG LINES, EARLY MORNNINGS!

In November I posted about our over 4 hour wait outside in 32 degree weather with lines winding around the building to get the girls their H1N1 vaccine. This morning I was up at 5 am after going to bed at 12 and getting up with both of my girls, to go put my chair out and sit in my car waiting for a # to get Molly registered for preschool! YES PRESCHOOL! It brings back memories of watching "Baby Boom" where this business woman inherits a child when both parents die. She knows nothing about raising children and is one day sitting in the park and the other moms and nannys are talking about schools. She over hears their conversation and asks a simple question like "When do I register her for preschool?" the women go on and on about how if she was not on the list before she was born there is not a chance of her getting in to any preschool worth going to! Who knew that that is kind of how preschools are around here.
Last year about this time people started to talk about preschools. Being as Molly is my first I had no idea what to do or what age to send her, but knew that she was getting to the point where I knew she would love something like that. I had talked a friend who had recommended several schools all of which were most likely not accepting anybody. I called around and there was no chance she was getting into the schools that I had heard about. There were waiting lists for the waiting lists. So the summer came and I could not shake the feeling that she needed something like a preschool. Molly gets bored and is really smart and likes to be with other people. I just knew that she needed something like that. I didn't know were to look or turn and I finally one night just got on my knees and poured my heart out in prayer. I talked about how I really felt that Molly would love preschool and that I felt she was ready. I also asked that if that were the case and that is what she needed that I would find the best place for her to be.
I am not kidding the next day i got a call from one of the preschools that I was told there would be no way at all for Molly to get in that year and a small chance if at all for the next year 4 year old year. They had an opening and could take her that coming fall. Oh she was so excited and just has loved her class, teachers, school and all that goes with it. I have been happy as well. The school is so close to my house and again love the teachers, class, kids, parents, administration and etc. Well today was early registration for those that already have kids in school. Registration started at 8:30 and they opened the doors at 7:30. So I was planning on going at 7:30. My same friend called last night and she said that she was going at 4:45 am to wait in line. So I called at 5 am and checked out what things were looking like. I went back to bed thinking I'd go about 6 and then I couldn't go back to sleep and was afraid that if I did go back to sleep that it would be worse to get up. So I ended up down there at 5:30. There was totally a line... Like really people who gets up this early to get your kid into preschool. Oh well! We all new that we were crazy and I did get the class that I wanted so that was good. I just can't believe that i did that... Preschool!

My Little Sickie!

Yesterday was the start of something not so great. Molly seemed totally fine in the a.m. and I got her ready and sent her to school. When I picked her up she was sounding hoarse and as the day went on she sounded more hoarse. That night about 6, while my parents were here, she was laying on the floor and wouldn't eat and just would want to be held and cry. We went for a drive and she fell asleep and so we come home and put her to bed. 10:30 she started to cry out and Kris went in and she had the barking cough and couldn't breath and just felt lousy! I turned the shower on as hot as it would go to create as much steam as I could and just sat in the bathroom for a long time with her while Kris was trying to get Stella back to sleep form Molly's earlier coughing fit and crying. I called my mom about 11:30 and she said bundle her up and take her outside (which I was really hopping to avoid at 11:30 at night. But we decided to have Molly sleep in our room just in case she woke up again coughing like that and then hopefully Stella wouldn't wake up. Kris went into her room and slept there and I bundled her up and we opened my bedroom windows and it seemed to help. I finally got her fever and down and the coughing down and she went to sleep about 2. Then about 4 she was up and coughing again. I got her some more meds (trying to alternate ibuprofen and Tylenol) and then helped her go potty and got her back to bed. About 4:30 she threw up all over my bed (It was kind of nice that she hadn't eaten in almost 12 hours, just fluids) none the less I got her out of bed, wiped her off, clean jammies, changed the sheets, clean blankie, got Molly back to bed still with the temp of 102.6 and then went down to do laundry. I got back into bed about 6:30. The poor kid has not eaten anything today and she has just layed on the couch and on my lap and i just am having a hard time keeping her temp down. 45 min after her last dose of meds her temp was 103.5. I know that is why she has been throwing up, her temp is just so high. I did call the Dr office and the nurse told me watch her for a few days and make sure she is getting tons of fluids. Oh I just feel so bad for the this little on. She is not talking (which is HuGE!, eating, she is just so not herself. I don't know what to do.) I'm sure she has Croup but with a temp like that should I be worried? Sweet girl.

Flipping The Bird!

I was just looking at my cousins blog and her lastest post was titled "Jesus Wants Me..." and here I am with the "Flipping the bird" title! Ya! Really need I say more.
Sat I stayed home with Stella while she napped and Kris and Molly went swimming at the gym we have a membership at. So apparently she said to Kris "look daddy" and then flipped him the bird. Kris responded calmly (I'm sure laughing) and told her we don't do that and it's not a good thing to do. Kris said he was just truing to figure out where she was getting this from, wondering if it's from school or where? She did this to him a few more times each time being corrected. Kris said that he did figure it out. There were a few middle age school boys at the pool who kept flipping each other off... NICE! Thanks for teaching my 3 year old that! So tonight Molly came to give me hugs before heading to bed and said, "Mommy look." Flipping me the bird, laughing hysterically. I tried to say as calm as I could. I told her how it was really bad and it was not something that would make Heavenly Father or Jesus happy. I told her how she was doing and saying something really bad when she did that. I hope she figured it out... Jesus Wants Me...To NoT FliP peOpLe The BIRD!

The Princess & The Frog!

Over the holiday weekend we got to go to Princess and the Frog with my family. Oh it was so much fun. This was Molly's first time going to the theater. She was so cute. She loved the movie and kept leaning over and whispering to her cousin Josie on the row in front of her. She did great and was good the whole time. I'm sure the treats my mom got for all of us was a help, popcorn, Nerds, Junior Mints, and there was much much more. So yummy! Stella stayed at my moms with Cyd and Braden. Thanks so much guys for watching her. She wouldn't have been as much fun, give it a few more years. What a cute movie, awesome company and Molly was so fun to watch. Thanks mom and dad for such a fun activity!

I Now Have Two Little Fish!

We had quite a long break from swimming over the holidays, but it was time to get back to business and get back to the pool. This session we put Stella in. Stella has taken a few lessons here and there, but we were ready to get serous. This little girl is so funny! I put her suit on and she started to kind of freak. She cried though most if not all of her lesson, but has gotten better. This isn't just splash in the pool kind of lesson. These are the survival swim lessons and they are pretty intense. It's really hard to watch your child like that crying out for you and panic, but you have to put a brave face on and just smile and clap when you see them and let them know they are just fine, It's a lot easier to say that then actually do that. Blesses her hear. The second lesson went much better and we took the girls swimming on sat and she would do everything for me and didn't cry other than just getting in the pool... I'm hoping it gets even better, I know it will.
Molly is doing great. She is a little fish and is getting much better and swimming. She still gets a little panicked and her rollbacks aren't as clean as they should be, but they are coming along. She is so fun to watch and is really loving swimming.

Moving On Up... Primary!

That's right! My big girl is now a sun "beep". I can't believe that she is already in primary. I'm so torn. She is growing up and just getting bigger and bigger. I miss my baby, but it is also really fun to watch her grow. She got to go to a primary party to meet her teacher and find her class room. The whole primary was invited and what a fun party.
This was her invitation....
How cute! I'm so excited about Molly's teachers. I worked with one of them in YW a couple of years ago and Loved her and the other teacher I haven't gotten to work with in any organization, but have had her girls in YW and know her and love her!
So yesterday morning I took Molly to the church at 9 and introduced her to her teachers. I left her with her teacher and then she got to have a picnic style breakfast. The bishopric made pancakes for everyone and from what I heard Molly loved every minitue of it. She was a little hesitant at first, but by the time I hit the door to leave Molly could have cared less if I was around. She had such a fun morning. I'm so excited for her. I know she will just eat this up.
Molly came home from church 10 years older. She was amazing during sacrament meeting and came home wanting to teach us a lesson (Kris finaly broke it to her that the book she was using was the dictionary, not the scriptures like she kept saying.) I think she really can feel a differance in being with the older kids. She is such a sweet heart and I love her. I will miss peeking in that little window to see her as I pass by the nursery, but now I will get to look for Stella. Man time is just flying by.

Molly in her PJ's all ready to go to the party!

Molly & Suzanne. This was just as I was leaving... It didn't take long to warm up.
The Bishopric working on the pancakes! They are so great! We love them all!
Molly & Suzanne. She didn't want to leave.

The Holiday Fun Continues!

I have been telling Molly that we can decorate her gingerbread house before Christmas, things just have seemed to get so busy and we have not had time to do it. Sunday was the day. I took the day off of doing my personal progress interviews that I have been doing for weeks now and spent some much needed R&R time with my family. Kris and I watched another movie and then when the girls got up from their naps than we started fun stuff. Kris played Fancy Nancy, (Molly's new favorite game, thank you mom) and I tried to catch up on some much needed blog post (journaling) Then Kris picked up a book to read for a bit and I told Molly this was a great time to do her house. She was thrilled. She did such a great job. I was happy I had thrown away the box because sometimes my need for perfection takes over and I think it should be a professional look, when in reality it doesn't matter what it looks like. In fact Molly had a lot more fun just putting things wherever she wanted instead of her mother telling where to put what. Honestly I really have to work on doing that, but when I do, I realize I have way more fun and so does Molly! She was so proud of her little house. She kept saying "Daddy look at my house. Isn't it so cute?" She did great and had a lot of fun. I'm grateful for the time I get with them and for the time making memories. I love this little girl. She seems to be growing up all to fast!

Funny Sayings.

Molly has had a few funny things to say lately and I just had to get them down before I forget them.

-Stella was crying about something (this is something we are used to hearing at our house) but Molly asked "Mommy, why is Stella crying?" I told her that she was crying because... (what ever she was crying about) and Molly responded "No Mommy, Stella is crying because she is so sad she doesn't have another sister." The thing that mad this so funny was I have been sick for 2 days down and out on the couch. I have not been able to do much of anything for my girls and it totally brought back memories of when I was pregnant. and as long as I can remember what it's like, I don't think there is a 3rd baby in the mix for a long time. Not that I wouldn't love another baby (even though I struggle with just the 2 that I have) but it's that Stella is so demanding right now and with her personality and her age there is no way that I can spend 6-9 months on the bathroom floor. That is why this was so funny to me.

-Molly asks everyday "Mommy, where are we going tomorrow." No lie! she asks this every day! So last night she asked if we were going anywhere? Being as we have all been sick we have not left the house for 3 days. So I told her we were going somewhere tomorrow and she said
"Are we going to Ikea, or Grandmas house, Those are your 2 options."
She is so funny! She just cracks me up.

RC Willey

Due to our flooding downstairs in the workout room we have had to replace the floor. We decided to go with RC Willey being as we had credit there from a prior return. We were sitting down to dinner on Tuesday night and Kris' phone started to ring. I looked at the number and told Kris what the number was and he said "Oh it's probably RC Willey." Randomly Molly from out of no where said... "Your home your way!" Kris and I both shocked and laughing said what? She said... "RC Willey, Your home your way." how funny is that that she know the slogan for RC Willey. She is such a crack up. She is always saying little things like that that you would just not expect to come out of a 3 year old mouth. She is so funny and we love it, and her. What would we do with out her?

This was such a fun day! We decided to have a Halloween party and it was a blast! My mom is just so much fun and put all of these fun things together for all of us. (I'm sure my sisters helped as well). We got there about 1, well were supposed to but it seemed like we were all running a little late. She had Sloppy Joe's for lunch (a Halloween dinner tradition) she had cut the cheese into the face of a jack o lantern and then we played our games. We broke up into 2 teams and started off with the candy corn toss... my team... VICTORIOUS, our prize was a candy lay. We went pumpkin bowling and then on to the fishpond... my kids totally scored... Stella got a play phone, Molly a Strawberry shortcake polly pocket Kris and I scored as well movie tickets. Yea Date Night! Oh my kids loved it. Then we decorated cookies and made carmel apples. Oh everything tasted so good and it was so much fun. I love that all of us dressed up:)
Dad: Cowboy
Mom: Minnie
Kris: BIG tourist
Me: Witch
Molly: Witch
Stella: Witch
Cameron: Vampire
Sierra: Postal worker
Tanya: Attacked Postal worker
Eleanor: Had this cute little skirt on, she looked adorable.
Cydne: Chinese Girl
Braden: Louigi
Katheryn: Cowgirl
Whitney: Indian
The Manning kids were so cute. Molly loved spending time with them.

After the party we were on our way home and stopped at a few houses being the Moultons, He is so cute. He had driven by our house earlier that day and told us to make sure to bring Molly up. We stopped and they had large candy bars and 20oz cokes. Holy Cow! Then due to falling apart Stella and I came home and Kris took Molly over to his parents. We only hit 2 other houses in the neighborhood. I really am loving this not quite getting trick or treating, one day I will have to go and I'm sure I will love it, but it's really nice to just hit a few houses and enjoy our night at home. What a fun year. Thanks to Mom for putting that party together. So fun!
